Kat Simons-Lite 98
A mainstay of Lite 98 since February, 1998, Kat’s show keeps Richmond rocking middays from 10A-3P. Her show features Kat’s Café at Noon, Cooking with Kat and Kat’s Pet-of-the-Day.
Kat is from Elkins, West Virginia, where she attended Davis & Elkins College, majoring in Communications and Journalism. Her first radio job was at the local station in Elkins. Kat’s long and winding road in radio and television has taken her from West Virginia to Kentucky, to Nags Head, NC and then to Richmond. In addition to radio, Kat hosted Beach TV in Kill Devils Hill, N.C.
Kat is an advocate for the humane treatment of animals as well as an philanthropist around the Richmond community. She is a current board member for Richmond Hero, and Richmond AARF.
Her interest groups range from Virginia Veteran Affairs, The Richmond SPCA to the USO and Richmond ARC. She also supports other groups specializing in helping the elderly and disabled.
Kat is a big supporter of local groups, including Pink Tie Gala, Virginia Dance Festival, Central Virginia Wind Symphony, Bark For Life, Paws in the Park, Safe Harbor, and Comfort Zone.
She looks forward to “Dr. Seuss Day” at J.D. Watkins Elementary, where she get to read to local Richmond children.
